International Networking for the Space Industry in the Berlin Region

Berlin has a dynamic and growing space ecosystem with innovative start-ups, established companies, research institutions and universities. In particular, the fields of small satellites, satellite components, data processing and emerging space-based applications have established the capital region as an important hub for innovation.

At the same time, there is still potential to further strengthen the international visibility of Berlin’s space sector. Small and young companies, in particular, often face challenges when entering international markets. Access to relevant partners, networks, funding opportunities and international business contacts is not always easy.

This is where SPACE Berlin International comes in.

SPACE Berlin International is a networking initiative of the Berlin-Brandenburg Aerospace Allianz e.V. aimed at strengthening the international connectivity and visibility of the space industry in Berlin and Brandenburg. SPACE Berlin International is funded through the “Berlin Goes International” programme of the Berlin Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises and is co-financed by the European Union.

The initiative supports companies, start-ups, research institutions, universities and other stakeholders in the regional space ecosystem in accessing international markets, building new partnerships and becoming more actively involved in global value chains and innovation networks.

The network provides a platform connecting Berlin’s space stakeholders with international companies, research institutions, clusters, organisations and other multipliers.

The goal is to turn individual contacts into sustainable partnerships and to help Berlin-based companies strengthen their position within international value chains and innovation networks. The initiative builds bridges between the regional space ecosystem and international markets, with a particular focus on the USA, India and Poland.
